This painting was my approach to minimalism or as minimalist as I can get giving a visual interpretation of my my surroundings and culture. The Harvest Moon, is the time when the summers work is now enjoyed, when the answered prayers for rain, now bless the home with life sustaining blessings of bounty. The Harvest Moon, stands as witness to all that our people have become and the celestial guidence, acknowledging the time to harvest. The sunset once again a dominant role in my work, with the signature creations cross in my work, found in most all my work.

During the past couple months, maybe a year now, I have had this urge to deviate a little from painting. Well maybe not completely, because, these boxes incorporate my paintings in them, recessed into the lids of the boxes.

The boxes, are part of an experiment to hold collector wines and or to market to Vineyards. A promotional item for possible use in anniversary wines, etc.

I guess, the next step is to continue creating a body of these boxes and create promotional brochures to get out to the local and regional vineyards. "Let's see where this goes".

One of the most favorite parts of my days are to just be in the studio immersed in my own world, free of the worlds stresses, losing myself in the thought processes of creativity.

The sub-conscious world emerging from the subtle hints of vision that have preceded each one of my paintings. Seeing only glimpses of color and or shape, sometimes weeks ahead and sometimes in the middle of the night. Only upon acting on that vision, does the life of a new painting come forth. I often wonder about those lost paintings from inaction. Are they lost in the sub-conscious world? Will they eventually come forth? Or have they morphed into another means of expression, a painting or my woodwork endeavors? Who knows, but the joy of creativity is such an awesome experience.
